Computer Science
The computer revolution has made the processing of information a mandatory requirement for every human activity and has been adhering to various problems in an organisation whose complexity is always on the rise. Computers are used in just about every business or profession. As a result, there is a need for competent, professionally trained computer experts in almost every area. Economists’ prediction of computers making it big in the economy has surpassed the imaginative figures far beyond the expectation of anybody. While many small firms use commercially available software, other companies and organisations hire programmers and computer experts to cater to their basic needs. Since it has proven that familiarity with computers leads to greater productivity, lots of openings have arisen in this industry.

An ability to reason logically, a thrill for problem-solving, analytical skills and a little mathematical knowledge are the requirements for anyone to pursue a career in Computer Science. Analytical skills are required so that one can break a problem down into its component parts. Mathematical ideas are used in several areas of Computer Science, including the areas of finite mathematics, statistics, linear algebra and analysis.

Since the technology is changing rapidly, the best education is one that produces a graduate who understands the general principles of computing software and hardware, and who can apply these concepts to new situations as they arise like laying emphasis on particular common languages, operating systems, or applications. Every student is exposed to a variety of systems and this helps them to transfer the ideas involved to different systems used by employers.

Software firms are the highest paymasters today. The international openings, especially for Indians have been the highest and it is causing a lot of brain drain in the Country. Bangalore has been in the limelight since quite a long time due to large number of multinational companies forming their Indian base here. It is being called the IT Capital of India.

Computer Science has created waves in the field of Information Technology and given birth to Information Super-highway wherein everybody is updated on all information and it is available at fingertips. This creates information hubs that serve mankind in automating several manual works and solving complex problems. Off late, there has been a seamless integration of technology and logistics that is helping online transaction with high speed and efficiency.
